Everyone’s a Winner is a project which aims to support carers, family members, and loved ones of people with an acquired brain injury (ABI).
Most of all, we learned to give our son the space he needed to grow. Look at him now! He seems so much more confident.
This programme, funded by the Community Fund, provides an opportunity to meet others, share experiences, discuss problems and create solutions.
Common topics for the carer sessions:
- Living with someone with a brain injury
- Working with memory difficulties
- Working with emotions
- Effective communication
- Housing difficulties
- Learning the law
- Understanding benefits and entitlements
- Coaching
To ensure that our carers, family members, and loved ones of people with an ABI feel safe and comfortable to share amongst others, they will be surrounded in a relaxed environment filled with like-minded people, who too, are happy to share their relatable stories and opinions.
Overall, the aim of this project is to remind carers, family members and loved ones of people with an acquired brain injury that they are not alone in their journey.
These sessions are typically taken place during the evenings to avoid interference with any other commitments.
